Pyrianite

"One cannot be free if the gods are the ones who control the sun, rain, and magic." - Cudi Mahon, Pyrianite Revivalist.
Pyrianites are a cultural group of people who believe that the gods are responsible for the pain and conflict in the world. They desire to unwish the gods by ignoring them. While most people love the gods, the Pyrianites refuse to acknowledge their existence. In the devout Empire of Amerielle, Pyrianites are seen as counter cultural and often keep their opinions quiet.   Many people believe that several lesser gods have been unbelieved into oblivion by the work of Pyrianites.   Pyrianite towns crop up occasionally usually after major religious scandals when the local gods are seen to fail. They push the religious groups out and tear down temples and statues.   They take their name form the mythos of Pyrians and The Dragon Slayer and believe that it stands for what all kinds must to do rid themselves of their gods that rule over them. One cannot be free if the Gods are blocking out the sun.   Extreme Pyrianites have been known to find and destroy ancient religious texts in an attempt to confound the spread of a particular deity. They are rare to be this extreme and it is uncommon for them to have any kind of formal organization.

Magic

Their views on magic are conflicted to say the least. They abhor magic that comes from any god, shunning warlocks, clerics, and paladins. They find the draw of the Wizards approach to magic acceptable as this is based on knowledge and not any diety.

Culture

Common Dress code

Pyrianites shun any kind of religious iconography and extend this to any kind of jewelry so as not to be distracted by baubles. They dress plainly and refuse to even adorn themselves with rings.

Funerary and Memorial customs

They bury their dead in wordless ceremonies fearful that a god might hear a cry as a prayer.
