Overscag

What makes it unique: Tobacco, has an underwater ziagarat that is occupied by a mermaid cult named Droshi.     A tobacco producing port town along the north east coast of Amerielle.   The lower area, near the ocean creates a more temperate area where crops grow well. The flat slightly sloped town is surrounded by thick forests and marshy areas. The melt from the Vaarak Winterlands gives the ground outside of town a soft peaty feel to it.   The influx of ships and shipments had kept the town alive and vibrant, but recently people have started to avoid it. Sailors, an always superstitious group believe that evil resides here. They often refuse to come off ship except when under command of their captains.     Surrounded by wildlands full of ancient buried temples and monsters, but even so the road that leads north to Icewyn and south to the capital is quite safe.           Commerce & Economy: One either farms, manufactors or trade. Most of the farm land is owned by individuals who farm their own parcelse. They pay a tax to Janus Vulmar the Jarl. Everything else is support to that.   Holidays//Calendar//Seasons: Spring through fall are mild, with occasional spikes in temperature Aftmorn - The day of celebration leading up to the last ships that leave signallyign the end of harvest and the beginning of winter - when travel along the route is more difficult.   Daily life: Most people wake early, do chores and farming, open shop, and then find themselves in the inns to celebrate the day or home to sleep.   Conflicts :   Character Build Suggestions : It's likely characters from this area will have familiarity with agricultural means, some ships, and foraging. They're likely hard as they deal with harsh winters. Probably enjoys a good pipe and hates the smell of bad. Also, probably misses "The best wine" which does not export well.

Government

The town is run by their mayor, Zakarias Ormond, who has been the same for nearly 20 years. The town is policed by the blacksmith and the sons of the mayor.

Defences

There are no walls that defend the city. It has several patrols that make sure the surrounding area is monitored. There is a rotation of men who are chosen to check for goblin and orc activities. In town the mayor, his sons, and the blacksmith are the police and handle protection and policing.

Industry & Trade

The majority of individuals are farmers or fisherman, but many others work in crafts such as blacksmith, butchery, or drygoods.

Guilds and Factions

The elders are generally directed to control the towns trade, exact taxes and make sure the right people are in the right place.

Architecture

Most of the buildings are wooden with hand carved door frames. They generally tell the story of the people who lived int eh house. When the sun is up in the winter it's not uncommon to see the villiagers out with their knives in hand carving at the buildings putting intricate scenes into wood.

Geography

The town has a shore and dock to the east, which overlooks a cold and unforgiving ocean. To the north farmland quickly becomes marshy and eventually a swamp that keeps anyone but the most intrepid adventurer or mushroom hunter. The west and the south quickly become forest, which the distant peaks of mountains can be seen.

Fish, oysters, tobacco, grains, and fine wine.
