Ranger of the Platinum Dragon Shadow of the Winds of the Nantō-bu Isles (a.k.a. Shadow)
Shadow of the Winds was born on the Nantō-bu Isles, southeast of Amerielle. Nantō-bu is the trade hub of the eastern ocean. His family still resides there, but Shadow yearned for adventure. As he was growing up he met merchants travelling from all over the world, and soaked up all the languages he could. Shadow learned that he was a avid learner. Due to his rabid curiosity, he left home and set out on an adventure. He planned to learn all he could about the world and discover whatever he could. Eventually his travels led him to the Frozen North of Icewyn Dale, where he stumbled into some trouble. Due to his foreign nature he was marked for sacrifice to the Frostmaiden, in the town of Targos. He was saved the night before the sacrifce, by a strange fellow named Z, who was a Doppelganger, and was invited to join the roaming Wolf Tribe. Z and Shadow trained together on becoming better trackers and dueled everyday to hone their fighting skills.
One night, after a hard day of training, Shadow had a dream of a mysterious figure with seven canaries, who told him of an impending doom. This figure also told Shadow that one of his disciples would explain all he needed to know when he awoke. Upon awaking, Ilidan greeted Shadow, and told them all about a secret order of rangers in service of Bahamut. Ilidan began to teach Shadow of the lore and skills of the order. Eventually Ilidan initiated Shadow into the order and gifted him with a gemstone, that appeared to have ever changing colors, and a necklace with a Platinum dragon scale at the end of it.
Shadow trained very hard to be of service to Bahamut, even after Z left the tribe in search of their father. One day Shadow received word that Z had fallen in battle to a verbeeg and vowed to help the survivors of their adventuring party, as Z had helped him survive the cold many moons ago.

Personal history
Shadow is the oldest of nine in his litter, and the only male. His parents run a successful trade business and shop. They specialize in all kinds of magical items and equipment. Eventually his father wanted Shadow to take over the business, as per tradition of the Nantō-bu Isles. Shadow feeling immense pressure to be great at this decided that he needed time to grow and learn before taking on this responsibility. With his parents' blessing he set out to explore the world in order to learn everything he needed to learn to be the man he needed to be.
Shadow, thusly, grew up well off. His parents were very loving and made sure that all of their litter had everything they needed to be successful at what they were destined to be.
Shadow was always very good at speed and sneaking. Thus he made quite an excellent scout for his family's excursions to find magical items and components to make more magical items at the family business.

Shadow was well educated and trained in many languages. He has shown an aptitude to picking up and learning new languages. He was also trained in how to be better and sneaking and scouting, due to his natural affinity to such things.

Growing up, Shadow worked in his family's business. Whether as a store clerk, a scout, or many other ways to help the business.
Since leaving his home and setting out in the world, he has taken up mercenary jobs as a scout, in order to get by as he travels the world. He mostly helped different traders along his way, due to his close ties to the trading/merchant communities.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Shadow is an accomplished scout amongst his family and the Nantō-bu Isles. He received top marks in school and was quite accomplished in sports.
Failures & Embarrassments
Shadow is incredibly embarrassed that he was captured and marked for sacrifice for the Frostmaiden. He sees this as his greatest failure, but one that he plans to learn from and never allow anyone to be forced to be a sacrifice again.
Another failure in the eyes of Shadow, would be not being able to protect his sister Opal from their Uncle Claw. Claw cut off her arm from just below the elbow, during the battle to take over the family business. Luckily this was the only casualty during the fight. This was one of the main reasons he decided to leave home so that he could come back stronger and be able to protect the family from his Uncle Claw and any other invaders.
Shadow also sees that not being there for Z when they died as a failure.
Mental Trauma
Not being able to protect his sister Opal has caused some trauma to Shadow that didn't really get exposed until the loss of Z. Losing Z has brought a lot of grief to Shadow. They were like a brother to Shadow, and reinstated Shadow's inferiority complex of not being able to live up to his own expectations as a protector.

Why Am I Here?
Our party gave out parting remarks towards the town of Good Mead, as we set out towards Easthaven, in search of some mysteries to solve. One mystery i keep coming back to is, "Why am I here?" Why did I choose to come to the gods forsaken land? It can only be to better myself. I need to prove to myself that I am capable of taking over my father's business once he retires, but how can I be certain that is what I want to do? Losing Z has still set me adrift. The only thing keeping me here is complete their journey.
I finally met another person, outside our Order, that follows the Platinum Savior. All I know about here is that her name may be Gwen. I broke into her home during a mission, and briefly spoke to her. I hope to go back at a more opportune and benevolent moment, and learn more of our mutual Patron. Maybe she can guide me more towards Bahamut's ways, and thusly the way I am destined for.
I still do not know the answer, but I will not give up. If not for my sake, but for the sake of Z and his compatriots. Maybe this gemstone from Z will help in some way, too. Only the Platinum Lord can tell. At this point I must improve upon my scouting skills (whether through stealth or knowledge of the flora and fauna), in order to better protect my adventuring compatriots. Maybe there I will find my way.
I truly miss my family at this time. I need to be stronger and better before I return to them. I cannot let what happened to Opal happen to any of my other sisters. As the oldest I should be able to protect my family and I have failed. I even failed to keep from being captures and almost sacrificed, but all of this has lead me towards my current path. The path leading to our Platinum Savior, Bahamut. I must gather the courage to move forward and not look back as He lights my way.
The End & New Beginnings
As I made my way to Good Mead, I came upon a female dwarf appearing to be in trouble upon a frozen lake. There were three human looking beings that were shambling towards her. I was able to dispatch one of the creatures, while two other dwarves appeared out of the woods. These two new dwarves helped to dispatch the other two shambling creatures. Hlin Trollbane introduced herself to us and explained that we should travel to Good Mead and be of use to the community. I was already on my way there and decided that it would be what Z would want.
In Good Mead, I met the surviving members of Z's party and we set about a funeral pyre for the fallen members of our party. Z had me swear to take his belongings and sell them to give the gold to his party and friends. He wanted to be of use after he was long gone. I am sad to see him go, but i know he is at peace and no longer has to suffer this cruel world. I hope to be able to live up to Z's legacy, and our patron's command.
We later received information that a potential Speaker of Good Mead was paying off some townfolk to throw a fight with him. We decided as a group that we were not going to throw this fight and divulge his conniving ways. We will have to wait and see where this goes.
I look forward to working with this new group. It has been a while since I made some friends, and I cannot wait to find out more about this eclectic group.
Lost & Found
It was a day like any other day, cold and unwelcoming, when I would receive the news. Z had fallen in battle to a giantkin. In all of my adventures throughout Amerielle, I have never felt this lost. I have travelled through the thick forests near Moongarten and could never have felt this lost. Z had saved me from becoming another sacrifice to the Frostmaiden. They were the one who introduced me to Ilidan, who in turn took me in and trained me to be better at surviving on my own. Z had been like a brother to me.
Ilidan took me and snapped me out of my trance. "You have to continue his mission." He told me. "Find the survivors of his party and help them to continue to survive as Z helped you not so many days ago. Rest tonight and be off in the morning."
That night, I was visited by the Mysterious figure again. "Shadow, you must retrieve the gift that was given to your brother Z. You must care for it until the time comes for its true nature to manifest. Find Adriel the wizard, Vegathal the druid, and Mishaan the pact holder in Good Mead. Continue Z's mission. I know you can do this, my devout ranger." When you said this I knew at once, it was Bahamut speaking to me. In my dream I knelt down and proclaimed, "Anything for my Lord. I will not fail you."
I left the next morning, with renewed vigor, heading for Good Mead. I was no longer lost and had found my new mission in life. I will help save this land, and continue Z's mission to save everyone and everything. All in the glory of the Platinum Dragon.
