Ear Calls

Ear Calls are the sheets on which bounties in local areas are printed and posted around towns. They describe the type of bounty, which can be for an individual, a group of individuals, or for a specific location and what the expectation is, which is usually to be brought in dead. However, they have been used to find missing prisoners or even important political prisoners who were wanted alive, so not every person's face on the sheet is a death sentence.
The name comes from a now barbaric practice of collecting the ears of orcs and goblins as proof of kills for gold. This is not done any more, aside from leading to unnecessary slaughter it also resulted in a lot of very wealthy, ear-less goblins.
The document also is known for a scandal where a high elf father had one printed up and distributed for his eldest son in an effort to have him killed so that his second son would inherit his fortunes. The scandal threatened to destroy the practice and for a while many tried to authenticate the bounties before heading after them but as the memory faded it seems fewer have pursued this.

Authentic Ear Calls have a magistrate or governmental stamp on it. Shone Baret also have their own stamp used in areas where they have a lesser presence, espeically in the Uhl-Kante planes.
