Firedancer
A Grace with the ability to control fire. While incapable of creating a flame themselves, firedancers may control the direction and magnitude of a flame. The motion often looks like a bizarre interpretive dance, giving them the name.
Practical Uses
Untrained firedancers often have an imprecise relationship with their power. A firedancer with a moderate (and acceptable) level of training could be expected to hop flame from a campfire to light a torch, for example. The most practiced may dance candle light around a room like fireflies. The even more able could shrink a flame so small that it almost goes out, invisible in bright light, only to grow the spark when needed. Should a firesnap and firedancer team with a non-Grace, the non-Grace may manipulate the fire in ways that harm others. For example: a firesnap creates a flame, a firedancer leads it to an arrowhead to set it alight, and the non-Grace fires that arrow at another with the intention to harm. The fire was created with the intention of being used by the firedancer; the fire was controlled with the intention of lighting the arrow. The non-Grace fires the arrow with the intention to harm another, but as they are a non-Grace, they do not have to abide by Freya's laws.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
