The book of Bart

Chapter 1: Children of the Sea Bartholomew's story begins on a merchant ship headed north from Lafaret to Mensé. Bart is no more then 5 months old on the journey as his parents, Freddrick and Caitlyn are journeying home from selling their harvest in Lafaret. The Ship, "The Twilight Moon" is your average transport ship used to ferry civilians up and down the coast line, which is a three day trip at most.   The trip progresses as expected for the first two days, the seas are calm and the route up the coastline is normally safe from pirates. On the final day of the voyage, the crew awakens to an unexpected storm blowing down from the north. The storm is unusual for this time of year and the ship is not properly equipped for the high winds. Left with few options the captain diverts out to sea to avoid the storm. It is not long into this detour that the ship encounters two pirate ships (known for slaving). This sighting forces the crew to make a choice.... Be boarded by the pirates or sail into the storm in hopes of reaching the port of Mensé. With the families refusing to fall grips to the slavers, the crew gambles and sail into the storm.   The storm is worse then imagined as the battered ship begins to take water.. Damaged and at the mercy of the sea, the ship is blown way off course to the north (up the coastline of the Plausible forest) where it is never scene again. Not much is known about what happened that night to ship and her crew, but 3 days later a group stalkers would bring 28 children from the doomed ship (all three years of age or under) into a druid village, deep within the forest. With all the other known passagers of Twilight Moon presumed dead, the orphaned children would grow up with the tribe, and would from that day be referred to as "The Children of the Sea".   Bart would spend his childhood in an orphanage like up bringing. The druids would treat the children like their own, giving them a chance at a fruitful life. Since Bart arrived at such a young age, he assimilated to their culture with ease. Fascinated with magic and mystery, Bart would quickly become a magical prodigy, earning him an opportunity to learn and train with the elder members of the tribe. He would spend most of his childhood studying and learning the ways of the druids. This included long days of mastering his transformations, and becoming in sync with nature. One thing was always consistent though with bart, he was too curious for his own good, and he never shy'd away from a fight. He would be known for his willingness to protect others and would work his way towards being a raising member of the community (gaining the respect and attention of many).   It was when Bart was 15 he would travel south with a small party to trade with a community outside of the forest. While away, the group would find conflict with bandits. Bart and the others would easily defeats the bandits and the ambush was all but won, when a close friend of Bart's was murdered in the fray. Without thought, Bart would transform into a dire wolf and charge the surrendering assailant. In a haze of bloodlust, the bandit is torn to pieces as the blood covered dire wolf reverts to his humanoid form. The tribe members are appalled with Barts actions as murder is strictly forbidden by the druids of the forest.   Bart's case would be heard by the elders when the party returned home. Bart felt regret, sorrow, anger, and guilt all at once. "How could they punish me, they probably would have let him go" bart thought to himself. The Elders, after many days of debate would have no option but to exile Bart. Bart felt betrayed as he viewed some of the elders as parental figures, but he understood the verdict. He would leave his home at the age of 15, knowing he could never return. With a thirst for justice, bart did anything a logical 15 year old would do, sail to St. Bartholomew and enlist in the Dieldoor Navy.     Chapter 2: High Seas Adventures with the Deildoor Navy   The start to Bartholomew's career as a Deildoor sailor was all but glamorous. Bart would spend his two year and a half as a low level sailor cleaning decks on mid rate ships. Eventually Barts abilities and commitment would catch the eye of a high ranking Dieldoor captain who would sponsor Bart to join the academy. Bart would spend the next 6 years in an elite Naval academy learning combat strategies, and navigation. It is here Bart would meet his closest friend Charlotte Hyde, an upstart intelligence officer.   Bart would excel over the next four years but would always be passed up due to his lack of social status. Upon leaving the academy as an officer, he would be assigned to a warship (The Iron Will) tasked with hunting pirates. Bart would do his best to keep in touch with Charlotte over the months who would remain in St. Bartholomew as Bart traveled East into new lands.   8 months into Barts tour, The Iron will was tasked with assisting another ship with the take down of a pirate ship in the area. It doesn't take long to capture and board the ship. It is here Bart is met with an old associate from the academy, Francis Bridgewright. Bart and Francis (Now a captain) never saw eye to eye, but since Francis was of high social status, Bart never crossed him... that was until this day. Francis would order Bart to have his men kill the surrendering pirates. Bart would refuse this order leading to an altercation between the two. Once separated the roughed up Francis glared a Bart, "You will regret that Bartholomew" as his men executed the pirates. Bart brushed this off as his captain told him to let it go, as they would be assisting Bridgewright's forces in a coming raid.   The raid was simple, intel from Francis was 3 small pirate ships that would be an easy task for 2 Dieldoor ships. As the Iron Will reached the rally point they were met by Francis and the pirate ships. To Bart and the crews surprise Francis and the pirate ships would bombard and decimate the Iron Will, leaving everyone for dead. The ships quickly tracked down those who tried to swim and flee, murdering them to keep the event a secret. Luckily for Bart he was able to transform and swim away. He would swim for days for fear of death, until finally collapsing on an island. It would take weeks to recover but Bart would survive this stroke of death. After the betrayal, Bart vowed he was finished with the navy and his life as a Dieldory. He missed Charlotte, but knew it was better for them both if the dieldoor thought he was dead. Bart, now 27, found himself starting life over again. Of course Bart had a plan though because Bart always as a plan.   Chapter 3: The Renegade Mercenary & The Proposition Coming Soon
