Kotoamatsukami

The West Wind, Lord of War; god of self-sacrifice and bravery

Kotoamatsukami is a Kushani deity and the husband of Amaterasu. He is the empyreal god of self-sacrifice, war and bravery in battle, being the embodiment of Kushani nationalism and their absolute devotion a cause.   In his mortal life Kotoamatsukami was the founding emperor of the nation of Kushan. He was a legendary warrior, a great general and a planeswalker that left matters of state to his wife, the Sun Empress Amaterasu, whom was a masterful stateswoman. Following the death of Amaterasu, Kotoamatsukami relinquished his throne to their heir, departed Amanor and sought the planescape for the soul of his beloved. They were reunited on the Nameless Isle, and Kotoamatsukami overcame the trials of the empyreals together with Amaterasu, giving his life to save her in the end. The gods were impressed by his devotion, and after a heartfelt plea from Amaterasu, they made Kotoamatsukami into an empyreal lord as well. The nation of Kushan worships him and his wife as gods to this day.
