Riner Is

That mountain was unbearably cold. My hair frosted over, even next to the flames. It never got any easier to bear during the years spent fighting.
— Etánro Palespirit, Origin

Riner Is is an enormous and forboding frozen mountain very few have ever returned from. Many brave souls have dared to ascend, but none have returned to tell their tale. Stories come from those who began their pilgrimage to the top but abandoned their mission.

Purpose / Function

Original purpose unknown.2   Currently, many seeking some form of personal enlightenment or accomplishment attempt to reach the peak of the mountain and see if the tales of ancient ruins are true.

Architecture

The winding path turns to a set of carved stairs at the base of the mountain. This steep and switchbacked staircase starts as stone, but the further up the stairs, the more that the ice takes over. From approximately halfway up the mountain to—presumably—the top, the stairs are pure ice with little to no traction.1
1I've talked with the locals of Fellbe about how they maintain such a massive staircase. Apparently, they don't. How then has it not worn down and functionally failed?

2I suspect Etánro's Origin could shed light on this. From my research, Vira and Paritet were atop the peak during the campaign for balance.
