52.2 - The Only Known Thing

Ixen can feel the presence of chaotic forces, as well as their absences. He knows the location of Ild, and the general direction of any other living dragon. He is immune to fire damage, but vulnerable to cold.   The cold allows Kilith to come forth, eyes changing color back to yellow.   Seeing one of Sil'Ferrous's flyers can help bring Kilith to the surface.   con check with int mod for "dirty magic"

Recap

Ixen arrived at Riner Ånd and had a pleasant chat with Omdanne, who requested that Ixen help her with a pressing matter; killing the Servitor. But he's not to do it alone. Omdanne has captured Preserver Asriya, who then—with much effort—scrys, locates, and then teleports the two of them to the Servitor's location. An attempt was made to have Zaru surrender, but instead he tosses a concoction of ice magic that explodes in the workshop, suppressing Ixen. Catching on quick, Asriya interposes herself between Kilith and Zaru, offering a plan of using Kilith to infiltrate the dragon's circle. Servitor Zaru very reluctantly agrees, and Asriya quickly crafts a pendant and traps an ice elemental inside, which when Kilith puts on knocks him unconcious.

The Plan

Current Day Water Cycle Day 23, evening   Encounter with Ixen inside his own mind. None of his stuff is with him, or Ixen.   You wake lying on a pile of sand. It's dark; you can only see about 10ft around you, and the light source is unknown—maybe from you? But it's not the only light source. Off in the distance there is a dim red light illuminating a good chunk of the horizon. As you walk, it's nothing but dunes of sand, constant hills and descent, yet the light on the horizon doesn't seem to indicate there's anything between you and it; more like there should be a flat surface all the way there.   At some point, you stub your foot on something in the sand. You recognize this object; a simple Paritet Release dagger. If you unsheathe it, blood pours out from the scabbard continously, the blade slick with blood and steadily dripping. There are more and more of these in the sand the closer you get to the other light source.   As the temperature reaches a noticeable difference, your foot finds the first steps of not-sand. Glass—a very fine and brittle at first, but thicker and more walkable as the source of light finally comes into view. Ixen, on his knees and chained to the ground by ice. He watches your approach, as if he could see you coming the entire time.   "Relinquish your hold on us. Let me take us to glory."   "I am your bravery. I am your conviction. What would you do without me? Continue to be lost and spineless?"   "You think you can redeem everyone? Don't be ridiculous." Sneers that line.   Ixen will get desperate. "Let me go! Let me out!" Quietly: "Don't let me be snuffed by darkness."   If it seems Ixen gets the upper hand, the bonds of ice start to melt and splinter as flames spout nearby from through the glass. If Kilith seems to get the upper hand, the glass beneath Ixen starts to crack and turn into sand, making him sink.   If they fight, it will be without weapons.   Allowing both to control? Yes. Then get a "new subclass" that's a mix between the two ready.   Water Cycle Day 23, night   He wakes up. Asriya and the Servitor are in a heated argument over straight up killing him or not.   Asriya and Zaru will ask for a plan and Zaru will want to know everything that he does. Neither will go back with Kilith to Klipafand, as they actually agree on one point—they both need to be making preparations. But Asriya can give Kixen a sending stone, so they can keep updated on the plan. She can also attempt a teleport to get him back quickly.   What are they going to do about Omdanne if they don't report something back soon?
