The reign of Alain I is marked by a victory over one invader and a series of losses to another. A large invasion by the Sidhe Courts is thwarted at the Battle of Keremma Dunes, ending Sidhe designs on the Peninsula at the time and staunching some of the major effects of the Bleed. The attempted invasion convinces Alain to crush the Druidic and Milliget populations with a brutal inquisition. At the same time, Waroch, the powerful Count of Gwened, fights several battles against Gallia. While initially victorious in battle, Waroch begins to lose the war of attrition against the combined forces of Gallia and its allies. He is captured and forced to submit. While defeated, his stance becomes a rallying cry for the rest of the Duchy.
