Personal history
Mercadier was a legendary Tolosan mercenary and the leader of the Brabançon Free Company serving the King of Logres, Richarzh "Kalon Leon" IV, among others. He rose to the position in 1086, when he led a campaign against Aimar V, Viscount of Limosin who had launched a failed rebellion against Logres.
Mercadier took control of a vast amount of Tolosa during the Heresy of Albi, successfully besieging or capturing 17 castles over the course of the campaign. He served as Richarzh's right hand man and Castellan and was raised to the position of Viscount of Limosin after Aimar's execution in 1092. When Richarzh was accidentally killed by Pierre Basile at Kastell-Chalus, Mercadier stormed the castle and flayed the unfortunate lad alive, despite him receiving a pardon as the King's last act.
Mercadier then joined the service of the Grand-Dugez of Akitania, ravaging the Southern Counties and sacking Angers. He returned to Port de La Lune on Kala-Hañv, where he was assassinated by his rival, mercenary captain Brandin of Angers.
Social
Reign
While nominally the Viscount of Limosin from 1088 to his death, Mercadier spent little time at his estate, instead waging wars for his employer or acting as Castellan of the same. In both roles, he was known for employing military logisitics to the function of civic administration, to great effect.
Social Aptitude
Mercadier was known as a cold, ruthless killer and mercenary, ignoring social and moral guidelines with exacting efficiency and brutality. He was prone to anger, as evidenced in his flaying of Pierre Basile, despite the youth receiving a pardon from the murdered King.
