Duncan Allandu

Duncan Allandu (a.k.a. The Pardoner)

The Ellén Trechend's three vulture-like heads bobbed up and down, each scanning the foliage for signs of movement. The brush was still. The creature, apparently satisfied, returned to its meal, ripping the entrails from the charred carcass, squawking with greedy snaps as each head fought over the choicest viscera. The rightmost let out a surprised squeal at the light caught the blade, the flash the only warning of the coming attack. The scythe sliced cleanly through the creature's neck, a bubbling liquid spurting out of the hole, landing with a sizzle on the dirt. The creature wheeled around, screaming in pain as the other heads dealt with the sudden attack, letting out panicked gouts of flame. The man in the black hat whirled his scythe once more, bringing it up from a low angle to slice into the monsters gut, bringing it upwards with a sickening motion as the central head jolted violently and crashed to the floor. The man in black smiled, slicing off the creature's left wing and kicking the off-balanced creature to the ground. The Ellén Trechend snarled and snapped, a last ditch effort to tear off its attackers arm. The man plunged his hand into its open maw, his smirk now a deranged, wild-eyed glee. The flame in the creature throat gurgled as it prepared to defend itself. With a slice, the hunter cut loose the creatures writhing tongue and pulled out his hand, clutching his prize as the creatures throat blistered from the undirected flame. It gurgled and writhed. The man in black calmly placed the still wriggling organ into a pouch and sat down, watching the creature in its death throes. As the monster writhed in agony, Duncan leaned forward, cutting off a bit of the charred oxen and sat back.

Physical Description

Facial Features

Duncan has a thin, almost skeletal complexion, with a long face with sunken cheeks and bulging eyes, his lips locked in a perpetual sneer.

Apparel & Accessories

Duncan dresses in a style based on the tales of the Ankou, the Lethan Pyschopomp. Duncan's standard outfit consists of a tight black doublet with 2 parallel rows of 7 brass buttons, polished to a mirror sheen, with dark grey pants and leather booths with brass buckles. This is often accompanied by a full black cape and a wide-brimmed hat with a buckle.   In addition to his clothing, Duncan is never without a few grizzly trophies, including a unusually large lupine skull he claims is from a Bleizh-Noz, attached securely to his belt. He wears an ever-growing necklace of teeth, pulled from Garwaf before the final kill. These are not always lupine teeth implying that some were pulled out of Garwaf in their human forms.

Specialized Equipment

Duncan carries a large scythe, continuing the Ankou theme of his ensemble.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Duncan lives for the moment, constantly seeking out new thrills of gambling and sexual partners, all to hold him over for his true passion, the hunt. Duncan does not shy away from difficult or dangerous targets, taking a perverse pleasure in torturing and killing his prey.

Savvies & Ineptitudes

Duncan is a skilled tracker, hunter and fighter, taking out both mundane and magical opponents with incredible execution.

Social

Contacts & Relations

Duncan has developed a web of contacts throughout Letha, his main base of operations, a result of a long history in the underbelly of Lethan society.   Morgiana - Duncan is a common collaborator with the Forthaves criminal organization, running grifts and the occassional larger con, often through the sale of fake relics.   Kathalia Bisclavret - Like Morgiana, Duncan often hires Kathalia Bisclavret for dangerous hunts or the occassional con game, much to the consternation of her regular employer, Gwaeron Sulime Dethemir.   Patav Lourdaud - As with many involved in the criminal underworld, Duncan has had dealings with the enigmatic Gourmand, having attempted to sell fake relics in Gwitreg. Duncan is indebted to the crime-lord and takes the occasional job from the Coquillard

Religious Views

Duncan is technically a lay member of the Southern Church, often operating with the blessing or authorization of Church authorities. He is adept at citing the dogma and portraying a follower of the Faith in his bearing. In reality, Duncan holds little stock in religion, actively selling fake religious relics to both the Druids and the Faithful in equal measure and ignoring Church restrictions in his personal life.

Wealth & Financial state

Duncan maintains a regular income through the collection of bounties and the sale of relics and monster parts, but quickly spends it on a never-ending parade of women, alcohol and gambling, resulting in a managed cycle of constant near-poverty and spending sprees. An Itinerant, Duncan possesses no land and few permanent possessions.
