Avaricon
Bourges
Government
Avaricon is the capital of the Viscounty of Avaricon and the Seat of the Duchy of Berry.
Defences
The city is nearly entirely surrounded by the Yevre River, with a stone curtain wall protecting the rest of the area.
Industry & Trade
The city is renowned as a center of alchemy, a center of production and experimentation. Tan-Mor was first successfully treated in the city.
The wetlands and pastures around the region have made it suitable for both grazing and market farming, making it one of the most productive agricultural regions of Gallia.
Infrastructure
Despite its importance as an agricultural powerhouse and center of alchemical industry, Avaricon has, for much of its history, been outside of major trade routes or lines of communication, lacking proper inter-regional roads, navigable rivers or other such lines. Its primary point of commerce now comes in the form of Lake Auron, large artificial lake created by damming the Auron River, which serves to allow Windships to take off and land in the region.
Architecture
Like Ar Mans, Avaricon is often called the "Red City" due to its red brick construction.
Geography
Avaricon is located on a hill along the Yevre River, due South of Per-Ys, surrounded by marshy wetlands, flooding frequently.
Avaricon is an important city politically, located on the border between Gallia and the Grand-Duchy of Akitania. It forms an economic triangle with Threetower and Cenabum.
