Ljósálfar

Elves of Light

The Ljósálfar are an elven race who inhabit a northeastern region of Ecíos, in a land called Álfaserin. They are the most elegant and peaceful of the elves, prefering knoweldge and beauty to conflict, they are also the decendants of the Tuatha hero who's lineage was blessed with light.

Basic Information

Anatomy

They are anthropomorphic, with two arms, two legs and an endoskeleton. They have very faint hair covering their body, with much more on their heads.

Biological Traits

Males are often larger and stronger than females; however, females are more flexible and have stronger immune systems since they bear children.

Genetics and Reproduction

They reproduce as most mammals do, with an 8 month gestation period.

Growth Rate & Stages

They reach adolescence within twelve to fourteen years and adulthood within eighteen to twenty.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They are omnivores and require a balanced diet of meat and plants.

Additional Information

Facial characteristics

They have elegant human features, with pointed ears and sharp brows. Their eyes are fairly light, ranging from blues to greens and even gold.

Their senses are on par with most mortal races.

Naming Traditions

First names generally have little bases, besides following the phonetics of their language Selanin. However, last names are based on the patron deities of their originating household.

History

When the elven races diverged, the Ljósálfar travelled north to encompass parts of both the taiga and desert of Ecíos. Blessed with the light they called themselves Light Elves, and the new land they settled they called Elven Pride. The Ljósálfar quickly started to build grand cities all over their new land, along the coasts and deep within the desert and forests. While the varying geography of their land separated their culture a bit, they ultimately remain a very united people.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

While they don't necessarily look down upon other races, they do hold themselves higher than even their fellow elves. Some races see them as snobbish; however, most do not care since they are known for their manners and hospitality.

They tend to be lithe, yet toned. They have little fat deposits making them appear athletic regardless of whether the individual is fit or not.

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking

While most tend to be a fairly pale beige, they can range to a more golden colour. Their hair is also on the lighter spectrum, ranging from almost white to golden blonde and the rare ginger.
