Dökkálfar

The Dökkálfar are an elven race who inhabit the swamps south of the desert region of Ecíos, in a land called Maathhona. They are are viewed as being very alien in comparison to the rest of their elven kin, they are also the decendants of the Tuatha hero who's lineage was blessed with dark.

Basic Information

Anatomy

They are anthropomorphic, with two arms, two legs and an endoskeleton. They have very faint hair covering their body, with much more on their heads.

Biological Traits

Males are often larger and stronger than females; however, females are more flexible and have stronger immune systems since they bear children.

Genetics and Reproduction

They reproduce as most mammals do, with an 8 month gestation period.

Growth Rate & Stages

They reach adolescence within twelve to fourteen years and adulthood within eighteen to twenty.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They are omnivores and require a balanced diet of meat and plants.

Additional Information

Facial characteristics

They have elegant human features, with pointed ears and sharp brows. Their eyes are fairly dark, ranging from reds to oranges.

Their senses are on par with most mortal races.

History

When the elven races diverged, the Dökkálfar travelled south to the swamps and jungles of Ecíos. Blessed with the dark they called themselves Dark Elves, and the new land they settled they called the Living Lands. The Dökkálfar were intrigued by the abundance of life within the swamps and soon started to experiment with biology when they settled in, this work caused their emerging culture to become very alien to most other races on Domus.

They are viewed as alien causing many races to distrust them, while few races act aggressively towards them because of this, most will go out of their way to avoid them.

They have lithe frames; however, between muscle mass and even fat deposits, they tend to appear more burly.

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking

They have dark dull coloured skin varying from dark blues to almost completely black. Their hair is typically black; however, dark reds are also common.
