The Laws of Alternia
There are powers that belong to certain castes.
Psionics is usually a trait of goldbloods, a two-toned energy that can be quite powerful, and is useful as fuel.
Rustbloods seem to have a connection with the dead, another thing is that they have telekinetic powers, though they have to be trained.
Ceruleans have telepathic and mind-controlling abilities.
Bronzebloods have a connection to Lusii, being able to speak to and/or control them. The speaking does not only apply to their own lusus, but to every lusus
Seadwellers can breathe underwater, and are great swimmers.
Cosmology
Nobody really knows how this world came to be - the conditions on Alternia are harsh, the sun too hot, and the very planet itself seems to be trying to eliminate life on it. Yet the Trolls prevailed, being nocturnal to stay away from the sun, and especially durable and strong to withstand the deadly conditions. Some say the empress has created the lusii, seeding the planet for life, but there is no explanation how she got here in any of the materials. Perhaps it was just a coincidence, that a Mother Grub evolved to bear Trolls, but that thought is heresy.
Principal Geography & Features
Alternia is very diverse. Despite the powerful red sun, flora still thrives. There are a good bit of cities, the slums of Outglut, the prestige of Everdim, and the residence of Thrashthrust. There's rocky plateaus, sandy deserts, grassy plains and immense forests. There are three continents, one of them being Alterniasia, similar to Earth's Asia. The largest continent seems to dominate a whole hemisphere, while the other two are smaller and closer together. Vast ocean inhabits the rest of the surface. Due to Alternia having two moons, there can be up to three eclipses occuring.
Initial Active Setting
The story takes place on the western continent, in the northern hemisphere. The region specifically is around Outglut and Thrashthrust, around center to southern. The subgrubs, shore, and the sea nearby, all house characters from my story.
