The Great Library of Vekirai

Purpose / Function

The Great Library is centre of government of Vekirai and the home of the The Great Sages of Vekirai. The Library is actually a complex of 5 separate buildings connected by underground tunnels.

Alterations

Kind Luria I, the first King of Vekirai, united the previously separate towers as a single Great Palace. The towers were connected by underground tunnels and a bridge was built from the Treasury Tower to the Old Library. Under Luria and the later Irao Kings, the towers were mostly repurposed as a luxurious palace. Only the Tower of Blades and the Treasury Tower maintained their original use. The Old Library became the Royal Apartments and the Tower of Justice became the Court of the King. The Council Tower was still used for diplomacy, but under the Irao Kings, this generally took the form of wild parties.

History

While each tower was built separately and has a distinct early history, the tower have been united as one palace since the reign of Luria I who repurposed the towers as a palace for his dynasty.
The Sages of Vekirai maintain the towers as their centre of government but have changes their decoration making them much more humble and simple. The Sages reopened the public forum in the Tower of Justice which was closed by King Luria II and removed most of the apartments from the Old Library, preferring to sleep in dormitories.
