Akashic Records
Aka, The Great Library, The Archives
There is, outside of space and time, a repository of all that is or ever will be. This library is a part of the collective lives and experiences of all beings. The information available there covers every topic conceivable, by definition. Some said that everything that ever happened or ever could was recorded in the Akashic library. Many considered it to be another world, a world in the mind or collective unconscious, which was solely a giant library filled with books and scrolls or a divine master server.

Form
Many percieve the Akashic Records to be a huge (perhaps infinite?), ancient library, filled with scrolls, leather-bound tomes, and books of all kinds. However, variations on this exist. Some might see it as a giant computer, with an access terminal. Some might experience a theater-like setting with multi-media presentations of the information. The interface might be self-directed research, or a guide or "librarian" who gives the seeker the information. The main defining aspect is that information is provided to the seeker.Security
Despite the potential for sensitive information to be gained from the Records, there are restrictions that prevent abuse. Primarily, the information cannot be used to gain from others. If such information is accessed, the knowledge is removed upon leaving the Records. The pain associated with this removal seems to directly coincide with the selfishness of one's intentions.Trying to leave with information that would let you steal from or even know the thoughts or feelings of another person would result in a noisy, embarrassing and sometimes painful experience. Headaches happen, and the energetic ripping of information from the mind was never pleasant.
