The Fey'ri

The Fey'ri, also known as The Hunters, are originally of wood elven origin. They look a lot alike, but have much bigger variety of skintones and eyecolors, often having narrow pupils like those of a cat or a lizard. Some of them also sport different kinds of horns, and among their people are considered the chosen ones for The Hunt.

Naming Traditions

Family names

Instead of family names, they use their tribe's name.

Culture

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

All the Hunter tribes on the area of The Old Sea attend the Tribemeet. Each tribe host the gathering on their own turn. The Tribemeet is held every 4th year and it's the greatest time of celebration and courtship for the tribes. They meet their relatives who have changed tribes and mingle with eachother. For the ones who are of the age, the Meet is the only way to learn to know peoplearound the same age from other tribes and possibly have some fun without constant supervision by the adults.

Coming of Age Rites

When the child is deemed old enough -usually when they are from 10 to 16 years old- the youngster is taken away from the tribe's current home, deep into the desert and told to find their way back home alone. This doesn't mean that the child would be without any tools, but in the harsh desert it is important to learn to survive alone. Most of the children survive the ordeal due to having been taught by the tribe since the day they were born, but some still fail to arrive home safely and succumb to the elements of the unforgiving desert. Those lost ones are considered to be ever-children, and even if briefly griefed by the close family, their death should not be mourned too much, as they were never strong enough and would have been a great burden to the tribe in the long run. The Desert gives and takes.
