Blackstone
Demographics
Blackstone has a high number of revanian, but is also the city with the highest percent of goliaths. About 60% are revanians, 20% goliaths and the last 10% are a mix of other races.
Government
Blackstone is ruled by the duke of Blackstone, a title which belongs to the leader of the Whitespear family. It is inherited by the eldest child of the family. The duke also has a council of people often made up by other nobles and chosen members of the town.
Defences
Blackstone is well defended, as it has to be. The town has two layers of wall, the outer wall which is built around the entire town and then the castle walls which holds the keep and courtyard. The walls are strong and made from basalt, ballista are also placed all around the walls, with a high number of guards patrolling both walls and checkpoints outside the town. The defense is very important because of the constant threat of sorrowsworn from the plains of havoc, though very rare, the threat is still present.
Industry & Trade
Blackstone is well known for the types of rocks and minerals found within the mountain and around the area. Gabbro and basalt are plenty and much is exported from the city around the kingdom of Revendell and the Empire. Additionally, relics and lost items from Eivendcross and Dürthang (new calamity), are often found not far from the city.
Guilds and Factions
The adventuring group known as The Whitespears made their home in the city.
Tourism
Tourism is uncommon in Blackstone, but some still come and mostly for the same reason. Most tourist or travelers to Blackstone comes to see the plains of havoc or even scavenge for relics from fallen heroes or ancient cities. Some excavation sites has found old and long forgotten artifacts, buildings and people. The fame for bringing these items out of the plains have brought many eager adventurers, scavengers and archaeologist to an early end.
Architecture
The city is built mostly from basalt and andesite, with the more noble houses having beautiful black granite floors and furniture. The city is built to be a bastion against any force coming from the plains of havoc and this aspect is well represented in both the material used to build the town and the architecture of the houses. Most houses are simplistic and built tall, Blackstone Keep is also built in this style, but much taller and much of the keep is built within the mountains. Basements are also common in Blackstone as the foundation of the town is sturdy and easy to carve.
Geography
Blackstone is built next to the plains of havoc and next to the remaining Black Peaks. It is located on the top of the rumble hills and the main castle even higher being built into the mountains overlooking the town below. The area around is very rocky and hilly, and many boulders and pieces of the lost peaks can be found all around the town's area. A waterfall falls down into the castle's courtyard into a large pond known as the black pond, the pond then flows into a river that goes through the town, the water comes from a small lake higher up cradled between the mountains.
