Mage Tower
Mage Towers, also known as Wizard Towers and Arcane Towers, are magical buildings that powerful or wealthy magic users call home. Originally created near the end of the Divine Age by some of the members of Tal Moorell, these buildings would rise to popularity during the Crystal Age. Unlike a normal building, Mage Towers are given a magical "heart" that allows the tower to repair itself, defend itself from trespassers, and clean itself. A tower can repair itself from pretty much any damage as long as its heart is intact. During the Silent Age, The Warriors of the Purifying Blade would send wave after wave of warriors until they broke through its defenses and destroyed the heart. The Blade offered a huge reward for anyone who reported one of these towers. This caused the destruction of most known Mage Towers and the ones capable of creating such complex creations.
The Towers that are believed to still be standing are the:
The Checkered Spire
The Grinding Turret
The Star Reach
The Bone Pillar
The Inverted Tower
The Sole Spell Tower
The Pillar of Lightning
The Sleeping Tower
The Chained Spire
The Cloud Pillar
The Sentient Spire
The Laughing Tower
The Smoldering Spire
Only the locations of the Checkered Spire, the Sole Spell Tower, The Grinding Turret and the Star Reach are known. The others only been mentioned in documents and legend but have not been located.
It does not take any magical power to become a master of a Mage Tower. All that is required is for someone to carve their full name on the heart of the tower. The master decides who is considered trespassing and who is considered welcome. The ideals and personality of the tower master influence how the tower functions. The tower still retains the influence of the most recent master even if they are dead.
