The Road of Hame

To Bind the Unbindable

The Road of Hame(Ha-Mey) is by no means a normal road, for it binds the special locations of the Phaery Realm together just like a chain might bind together an unruly beast. The Road was created by an ancient mage by the name of Hame(Ha-Mey) to bind together the Phaery Realm and prevent the forests from taking any brave travelers. The Phae Lord, who hates any sort of geographic certainty, has tried to dismantle road time and time again. He has tried everything--from tearing off each individual stone to blasting the road to pieces yet nothing works for the spells that protec thte road are too powerful. Have no fear when traveling thorugh the Road, for you'll sooner reach the edge of the North before you get lost along its path. It is said that the Road is so powerful that even the dead wander it as if they were alive.

Purpose / Function

To bind together all the major locations of the Phaery Realm and make them accessible to the average traveler, denying the Phae Lord's woods from taking more lost victims than they already have.

Architecture

The Road is simple. It is nothing more than a wide path of flat stones adorned by the occasional lantern hanging from a tree branch or a stick. The lanterns can be quite beautiful, and unlike the orderly Caleian roads, this road twists adn turns and has no defined boundaries marking itself from the land around it. Occasionally, strange sigils appear on one of the stones in a pale, green light and vanish moments later. These are the spells Hame put on the road to keep it safe from Dryadalia's dangers.

History

Few remember when Hame first walked the Phaery Realm and built his road, and those who do are not willing to share. Thanks to Hame's protective spells, the Phae Lord and his followers have so far failed to remove a single stone from its path.
