Captain of the pirate ship Patient Virtue, Captain Arrathe Harkess is a former naval officer turned to piracy since the calamity.

Very strong and fit, for her species, she is quite large and has none of the litheness you might expect from her elven heritage, being very brawny.

Identifying Characteristics

A pair of long white scars on her cheeks from a duel with another pirate captain a few years ago.

Personal history

Born to wealthy parents in Allvar during the Last War, like many, she was orphaned at a young age. Her human father had been pressured into joining the military as an officer, serving on a naval galley that was sunk by pirates hoping the plunder the weapons onboard. 
Her elven mother decided to take the young Arrathe to The Great Forest to return to her people. For a few years, they lived in peace together in the Elven village of Cul'allyis, however, her mother died a few years later when the village was overrun by a tribe of Goblins. 
The young Arrathe stayed with her elven kin until she came of age (for a human) and decided to leave to join the Avalonian Navy like her father.

Raised amongst the Elves, she was educated well

Employment

Worked as a Naval Officer until the end of the Last War, took up a ship and a crew and began piracy

The youngest ever Captain in the Avalonian Navy

Mental Trauma

The deaths of her parents at a young age has scarred her. Unbeknown to most of her crew, she has taken up piracy mostly to try to locate the ship that killed her father and she has a pathological hatred of goblins.

Motivated by hate and revenge, in a time when more and more people have given up and don't feel anything, her desire to find her fathers killer has given her a drive many others lack.
