Songbird

"Have you ever wanted to live life in someone else's shoes?" - Horrace Hobblesmith

Little is known about the origins of Songbird. Its secrecy is kept under lock and key by the world's elite. Those outside of certain circles that hear whispers of the hallucinating drug is quickly found and hushed. The method to obtain more Songbird is so tricky and nefarious it would quickly become impossible to acquire if the masses were made aware.

Acquiring the drug is relatively straight forward. The bones of a recently deceased person, no matter their race, are to be ground up by someone with a small amount of magical prowess. Infusing the bone dust as it is ground with magic creates an eerily glowing blue paste. This paste can be ingested in a multitude of ways in order to initiate the effects of the drug. Snorting, injection, consumption or even spreading over the skin can cause the hallucinations to start.

Once ingested the drug transports your mind into the life of the person whose bones the Songbird was made from at a random point in their life. Higher tolerance to Songbird leaves the user a shorter time in the bird's life. This can be exciting to some as it is a way to experience something they may never get a chance to. Some use it to gain wisdom from previous leaders or learn enemy tactics from the foes they've bested. Others use it more recreationally and want to know what it is like to be a world-renowned singer or a highly skilled athlete.

The act of desecrating someone's unwilling corpse is enough to deter most people from Songbird, but the most nefarious of the elite have been using it for centuries and mean to keep it under wraps.
