Returning to Thistlefort

The group returns to Thistlefort, finds a new companion, and a solution to their water problem.

The group woke up the next morning and took their wagon to Thistlefort, thankfully encountering no problems. They first traveled to the Forest Dragon Inn, and found it to be flourishing under Christie's initial investment, and that the owner, Hayden Reed had built them a new suite to accomdate their group, and that they could stay there as much as they want for free. He gave them breakfast, as well as directions to the Violet Fire Tower.   After leaving the inn, they headed to the market, where they witnessed a lashunta woman being attacked by thugs dressed in black. The group intervened and drove off the thugs, capturing one and dragging them into their wagon. The lashunta introduced herself as Mongoose, a cleric in the service of the goddess Zoleah. No one had ever heard of this goddess. The group and Mongoose fled the market in their wagon before the arrival of the guards. Mongoose explained that she had been trying to spread the words of her goddess before being attacked by the thugs, and offered to free them all of sin. The group didn't seem too enthused, but wanted her help in their quest, and after some discussion, she agreed to join them.   The group traveled next to the town bank, a branch of The Iron Bank of Brothers, intent on turning the chest of golden trade bars given to them by Saint Kristoff into local coinage. Mongoose went in first and made a big scene, saying she had an account and a million gold was owed to her, eventually the manager, a large wood golem, was called in to mediate. Mongoose eventually would leave, and the teller was thankful to then help a much more polite Christie, Mongoose would explain to the others that this was her plan the whole time.   Christie attempted to exchange the trade bars for local currency, but the teller explained that the services of the bank were only availible to those who had an account. Christie inquired about opening an account, but to her surprise, they found she already had an account, and a balance of 50 gold pieces. Memories came back to her of working in an inn with her mother and father, and of making deposits. She was able to exchange the money and left.   While this was happening, a group of guards went snooping around the wagon, but the rest of the group was able to hide the tied up prisoner, while Guiliman convinced the guards to leave. Once everyone was regrouped, they traveled to the Violet Fire Tower.   The group gained entry to the tower and met with Iliana Mooncape, and explained their problem. She provided them with potions of water breathing for free, and asked them to keep an eye out for two other wizards from her order that had gone missing in The Spire a few weeks ago: Zarina Andreti and Ramud Gravedigger.   The group traveled back to the market, dumping the ruffian they had captured, did some shopping, and then returned to the Forest Dragon Inn.
