Exploring deeper into The Spire

The heroes acquire a new member, fight an undead Caen, and nearly die at the hands of a tribe of fanatical troglodytes.

After burying Caen Borland, the group made camp in the woods, and saw a prison wagon passing by. The guards wore similar armor to the guards of Thistlefort, but plate. The guards, spotting the campfire, acosted the group, and during the battle, the prisoner was able to escape. The group intergorated this man, Jimmy, and he joined their group. The group proceeded to ride north with the wagon, and all the valuables of the guards.   The group stopped at the Ironspine Homestead and caught some more sleep. In the morning, they convinced Divram Ironspine to take their goods into Thistlefort and sell them. They kept the horse and wagon, and returned to The Spire. There, they found Caen's grave had been dug up and his body gone, and the tracks led into The Spire.   An angry spirit with the form of Caen attacked the group in the second level, playing haunting music that inspired fear and attacking them with his guitar. They eventually slayed the spirit, who disappeared, but the guitar was left behind. The group was not sure what to do with the guitar, and so they threw it into one of the moon spider pits. They explored the rest of the level, finding an old crypt with risen undead, which they dispatched. They also found a foul room that seemed to be for experimenting on folks, long since abandoned.   They eventually made their way down another staircase to the third level, where they found most of the level to be barricaded and found people telling them to leave. After a shouting match, they are greeted by Ariella Colello, who invites them in. They share a meal, and learn that she is the head of an order that worships The Street Walker. They agree to clear out the troglodytes on the 4th level in exchange for safe passage through this floor and for Ariella's group to help fence their treasure. She also gave them the information that a necromancer ruled the floors below the troglodytes, and that the 5th floor was flooded.   The group made their way down to the 4th level, and were greeted by a troglodyte named Skarg, who welcomed them and told them of their god, The Marnier. The Marnier turned out to be a large metal box the size of several men, that was highly magnetic. Skarg explained that they simply wished to live in peace, but that to pass by the box, a sacrifice of metal must be made. Guiellman thought this was a trick, and attacked the troglodytes, who overwhelmed the party and took Christie hostage, releasing her on the condition that the group leave forever. The group did leave, returning to the third floor to figure out a new strategy.
