The Grim Demons

The Grim Demons are one of six orc tribes of Drakthirr. They live on Mutton-Head Island and are the smallest of all orc tribes. It is said, that the Grim Demons are corrupted by a demonic presence living on the island. The balance between Orcs and goblins is relatively average.

Geography

The Grim Demons live on Mutton-Head Island, a large island in the west of the mainland of Drakthirr. The borders are well defined by the shape of the island and the territory measures about 50.000 square miles. The capital Azrudh stands on the southern coast in the Right Horn Bay.

Climate and Vegetation

The Grim Demons live in a temperate climate zone. The temperatures reach from 6°C in winters to 30°C in summers, only the center of the mountains is significantly warmer. The territory is exposed to a lot of rainfall, however, due to the magic of the orcs and a potential demonic presence, it was weakened especially in the southern regions. The ground can be described as badlands and is very dusty and earthy, often infertile. The flora is very sparse, and only smaller plants like bushes. The fauna is adapted to the circumstances of the climate and flora. In the wastelands, only a few animals can be found, especially wild animals like boars and goats, but also predators like wyvern, and various insects.

Society and Politics

The Grim Demons live very isolated and surprisingly peaceful. However, they are known to be one of the strongest orc breeds, probably due to demonic corruption. War, fights, and duels still play a big role for Grim Demons and it is believed, that many orcs fight either on a different plane of existence or in hell even. About 450.000 Orcs and 1 million goblins belong to the tribe.
The population of the Grim Demons is united and no smaller sub-tribes exist. The forces of the tribe are rather divided into different armies, which could maybe be interpreted as a kind of sub-tribes. The Grim Demons are part of The Horde of the Great Warchief since 3000 b. BF.
