Lonthrad
Lonthrad is one of six elven factions of the Elven Alliance. It is the largest of all six elven factions and lies on the central northern coast of Durarin. Despite its size it is just the second most influental faction in the Elven Alliance after Casduin. The elven population of Lonthrad is an even mix of High- and Woodelves and with some additional minorities like Halfelves and other Sylvan.
Geography
Lonthrad borders Morthyr in the north. Both factions are divided by River Esgalduin. To the east of Lonthrad lies the territory of the House Bellarpassa. River Celusyria divides the territory of both hostile parties. The southern border of Lonthrad isn't very well defined, which led to some minor conflicts with Aendari. Eventually, the issues were solved by keeping the borders fluent, letting a noble wood elven family take charge of the southern region of the faction. The capital of Lonthrad, Alndorei lies on the coast of the faction.Climate
Lonthrad is located in the northern temperate climate zone. Temperatures reach from 0°C in winters to 24°C in summers. Similar to all other elven factions, the weather in Lonthrad is influenced by magic. It has rather high precipitation, allowing large forests to grow. Additionally, the magic protects the territory of the faction from freezing temperatures.Vegetation
The flora and fauna in Lonthrad are very rich and diverse. Especially wild animals living in the woods reach outstanding numbers. On the other hand, grazing animals and domesticated farm animals are rather rare. The population of Lonthrad especially woodelves takes special care to preserve the forest and nature. The even mixture of highelves and woodelves keeps the balance of nature and civilization in Lonthrad.Politics
Lonthrad is reigned by 6 aristocratic families. Each family claims a seat in the Elven Alliance. Instead of assigning different tasks to different families, the aristocrats just take over governmental tasks and decide on laws and who to put up to solve specialized tasks. The right to rule over Lonthrad is inherited and can not leave the noble bloodline. In case of extinction of a noble family, the name is removed from the government and is not replaced. Diplomacy
Lonthrad's flag shows a horned helmet in green and brown colors. The colors just like the style of the helmet represent the woodelves while the white background stands for the balancing counterpart, the highelves. The horned helmet is a very popular symbol representing willingness to war.
