The Endless War Over Nothing is an extended hundred and fifty year conflict that has taken place on the planet of
Nu between the two primary resident races, the
Grung and the
Locathahs. Neither side remembers what caused the war, but the heavy casualties on both sides have caused a new battle, due to their need for vengeance.
Repercussions on Nu
The Endless War has caused violent distrust on the planet of
Nu. The
Tritons, the one major race of
Nu not active in the war, are constantly argued with to join either side, believed to be the one way to end the war due to their militaristic powers. People who leave the planet are heavily scorned whenever they return for leaving their people to conflict and politicians and powerful travelers to the planet are always bombarded with questions of which side they support.
The war has left millions dead at this point. Ceasefires and surrenders have made some places safe, but even in the safer cities, everyone wonders when war will once more reach their shores.
Picking Sides
At this point, neither side has any moral high ground in the argument. Both sides have had extended racial conflict unrelated to the war, both sides hold hostages, and both have commited plenty of war crimes. At the current time, the leader of the
Grung army,
Yuogo Wo, is considered the lesser evil of the two sides compared to the staunch militarist Locathah
Hotok. However, Yuogo is weak and young and as the enemy questions if they're near victory,
Grung question what Yuogo will be willing to do to prove his military might.
