Spelljammer

the 'Space Ships' of D&D

A spelljammer was a Magic vessel, usually a ship, that can travel off planets and through space and the Phlogiston. Each ship has a magical Helm, a seat that allowed a powerful magic-user to pilot the ship.

Game Note: The nature of the Anon (magic) in Alanspace causes a Spelljammer to lose most of its power inside the Alan's crystal sphere, only being functional again once in Aldern's atmosphere. While the 'pilot' retains the ability to steer, all propulsion abilities of the Helm no longer function. A special 'Solar Sail' is needed on ships to move it through Alanspace.
