Cave paintings found throughout the Boran Peninsula tell a story of how most Shurapak were drown as their lands flooded after the Gilgurth impact. Others show survivors clinging to the sides of mountains. Shurapak myth centered on the world being washed away in floods to cleance it of evil. They believed that at the end of time, these floods would fill the skies, drowning all existence under the sea.
