One of the most common elements on Aldern and across Alanspace, iron is a metal that is been used by all races of the world since the beginning. The technology to harness iron developed slowly. The first uses of the material were beads made from meteoric rocks, perhaps as far back as the Edian Age. As the smelting process grew more refined over the ages iron would replace other softer materials like Copper for tool and weapons. Iron is the key component in the production of Steel in the modern day.
