Where one might think of martial classes and military scouts when hearing the word Ranger, most forget that at the core of every ranger is a hunter. While every man or woman that ventures out to hunt for food can be called a hunter, most do not make it their profession. A hunter within the ranger skill set is someone that ventures out to hunt, yes, but they also serve to balance the natural world and protect the civilized world from any imbalance that develops.
Hunters are the most common form of the ranger class. They are found in every corner of the world. Every race and species hunt. Hunters are the natural development of rangers that do not specialize into any martial skills. These rangers do not just bring meat home for the family, they hunt the creatures that disrupt the world around them. They study everything they can about the flora and fauna of their lands. They learn strengths and weaknesses of the monsters around them.
