Corian
Corian is a beautiful and rare gemstone that is highly dangerous, especially for celestial beings. It takes very little to activate it and turn it into a soul-stealer, though how activation occurs is virtually unknown today.

Material Characteristics
It usually forms in shapes that are very close to spherical, and is semi-clear with a rainbow of shifting colours.
Physical & Chemical Properties
Corian is slightly warm to the touch for many species, with an average temperature of 38 degree celcius. Most importantly, activated Corian will drain the life-force from those around it at variable rates. The strongest will kill a being in seconds; the weakest will take years, often driving those nearby it insane with the urge to keep it close to them.
Geology & Geography
Apparently Corian can be found deep under the rock of the ice planets of the Bane-Edge system, where the Titan forges used to be.
History & Usage
History
Though it is unknown when the Titan first discovered Corian and put it to use, it is known that it was often used during their battles against the DragonBane, as surviving members of the Old Vanguard seem knowledgable about it even if they don't share that knowledge.
Everyday use
Soul-stealers, jewellery, decor, and any combination therein are created from Corian. However, it has no use in everyday life, for many beings who come into contact with it will have their life-force drained away in a variable length of time if the Corian is activated.
Cultural Significance and Usage
Corian has great cultural significance for Titans and those affected by them, as soul-stealers are often used to power large pieces of Titan machinery. After Titans left and other traces of them fell into ruin, many species continued to hold Corian in high regard, with what pieces they found being used as religious or spiritual relics. Famous examples include the circlet of the Great Elder of the Bladbuz and one held in the largest temple of the now extinct people of Mars. There are also instances of particularly potent soul-stealers being used as defences: the doorways to the afterlife that the Lawerians guard in their artificial worlds can drain the life from you in seconds, and are revealed from the stone doorways if someone tries to cross them without a key.

Corian only has to be shaped and polished, similar to many gemstones of Earth.

For some reason, activated Corian seems to only be dangerous when there is no physical barrier between itself and a living being. Corian in a box is entirely safe, but will generally outlast many materials. As a general rule of thumb, if you can see the Corian, it is unsafe.
