The Hollow Chorus
A sect of the
Children of the Shattered Veil, the Hollow Chorus is devoted to
The Hollow King, a demon lord of emptiness, submission, and oblivion. They believe that free will is an illusion—a burden that traps mortals in suffering. True enlightenment, they claim, lies in surrendering all thought, all identity, and all self to the Hollow King.
To join the Hollow Chorus is to begin a slow and deliberate unraveling of the self. Acolytes shed their emotions, their desires, and even their names, dissolving their egos in service to their lord. As their devotion deepens, they undergo a transformation—both mental and physical—becoming mere vessels for the Hollow King’s will. The highest honor among them is to become a Husk—a mindless, featureless humanoid whose body is fully possessed by the Hollow King, to be shaped, manipulated, and used as he pleases.
Secrecy and Influence
The Hollow Chorus is an enigma, lurking in the shadows of society. Few know of their existence, and those who do fear them deeply. Their secrecy is impenetrable; their motives, unknowable. Attempting to extract information from a captured acolyte is futile—if unmasked, their consciousness vanishes, their minds hollowing instantly. They remain alive but vacant, unblinking, and devoid of thought, incapable of speech or pain.
Rumors abound that the reach of the Hollow Chorus extends far beyond what is known. Whispers speak of their influence in major political circles, with unseen hands guiding rulers, scholars, and warlords alike toward some inscrutable purpose. Even the
Order of the Crimson Vow, sworn enemies of the Children of the Shattered Veil, have unearthed high-ranking members of t
The Church of the Devout Orders who were, in truth, servants of the Hollow King. What agenda they push remains unclear, but one terrifying truth is certain: they are already among us.
