Leoflaed

Leoflaed is a member of the Belanos royal family and was the Queen of Rhudd from 718-740, when she is deposed. She was the only legitamite daughter of Queen Sarhild of Rhudd, and thus succeeded her at age 10 when Sarhild died. Until she reached 20 in 728, the Queendom had an era of relative peace despite skirmishes with the Hanoeth tribes and the encroaching of Armelle’s army on Fithere Mire

For much of the 700s, Rhudd had failed to develop on an industrial scale despite having large mining resources. The Queendom of Gheal’s capital Blaec Gheal had become the first Belanos-operated Midnight City, whereas Rhudd was populated by scattered settlements and decentralized mining towns. Sarhild had been an environmentalist who advocated against industrial techniques for mining, leading to illegal machinery as well as worker exploitation. Clockmakers had been brought in by Leoflaed’s council to begin rebuilding infrastructure, but when Leoflaed turned 20 that changed.

Disenchanted by her council’s frequent misuse of power under her name, Leoflaed became extremely mistrusting of the Earlen and members of the council. She married a Holorusia prince.

She is known for her private army of double walkers, the Blaecheort .
