Physical Description

General Physical Condition

A woman of short stature with thick, curly brown hair, flashing eyes, and a wit that is as sharp as it is odd.

Special abilities

Seeing the future

She owns a set of dragon knuckle bones that are covered in ancient glyphs that she can cast to give a true fortune telling. Since taking up residence in Teirm and her time spent with the Varden she has offered to cast them for 4 people, all of whom Solembum had taken an interest in;
  • Selena,
  • A blind beggar man,
  • Eragon Shadeslayer,
  • And the women known as Wolf-eyes and Bladesinger,
The blind beggar declined the offer.

Magic

Angela is somewhat uncomfortable with using magic, instead using herbs and plants to make potions. However, on occasion, she was able to cast spells of incredible ingenuity, such as expending energy to move extraordinarily fast and to stop time momentarily, as when she killed a large group of Helgrind worshippers with her poniard within the span of less than a second, though she can't pull that trick too often.

In the Battle of Urû'baen, during Lord Barst's attack on the invading Varden, Roran Stronghammer asked Angela if she could kill Barst, to which she replied that she could, but at the cost of all the lives in Urû'baen, save for Galbatorix's.

She is the only person able to ward herself against Elva. Also, she was notably able to remain unaffected while Arya Shadeslayer, Solembum and Eragon Shadeslayer were held in place at the same time while in mental combat.

Apparel & Accessories

When preparing for battle, Angela dons armour that appears to be made of a strange metal that is outlandish flanged and enamelled black & green. She also tended to wear a cape over her armour so that she can conceal a trick or two.

She is known to wield a wide range of weapons including;
  • The Hûthvír she obtained from a member of Dûrgrimst Quan.
  • The sword Tinkledeath (because of the sound it makes when you tap it), Albitr in the Ancient Language.
  • A poniard

Mental characteristics

Education

She was the apprentice of Tenga for an "unfortunate number of years", however she believed him dead until Eragon informed her otherwise. One of the methods he taught her was a way to control time, without it taking an impossible amount of energy. A lot of it is about how you think about thinking.

She is a surprisingly skilled fighter; she has killed Kull in hand-to-hand combat.

Failures & Embarrassments

She was once cheated out of a piece of enchanted crystal in a game of Knucklebones by a man with a donkey with a bald patch of fur that resembles a rooster's head, while, ironically, she was also trying to cheat him.

Intellectual Characteristics

Angela is known to be eccentric, witty, as well as filled with knowledge. However, she seldom revealed much and often left those who spoke with her even more confused than before the conversation began.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

She likes to be wherever big events are happening.

Social

Contacts & Relations

She is widely respected, even by the elves who call her Wise One. The urgals call her Uluthrek (Mooneater), however many dwarves dislike that she wields a Hûthvír which she won in a game of riddles.

Eragon Shadeslayer & Saphira Brightscales both consider the herbalist a friend.
She became Nasuada's unofficial adviser during the Rider War. However, when she became High Queen and pasted laws to restrict magic users, Angela decided to leave Alagaësia at least for a time.

She has travelled with the werecat known as Solembum for with many years and more recently has also been travelling with the Witch-child Elva in an attempt to help the child become more empathetic.

She is one of the only people that was allowed to freely come and go from the Varden without having her mind searched.

Hobbies & Pets

She enjoys knitting, particularly as she could create items of clothing useful to her specifically (for example, a sweater with Dvalar's ward against mad, red-eyed rabbits)
She also likes carving figures out of wood: notably, this is also an Urgal custom.
