Shortly after the invasion the nations of Toril sailed a fleet of mercenaries, nations, and willing sailors to combat the Elven Armada. Their arrival was met with a naval battle the likes of which have rarely been seen. The battle was not long lived however, from the calm seas rose a tempest that crushed the warring ships, scattering them to the ocean floor. The fury of this tempest was such that it shook the foundation of the island itself, sinking part of Talos Landing and breaking the unnamed islands on the southern shores, now known as the Shattered Isle
