Pyrresca
Pyrresca
Near the eastern shore of Bel Nari is the city of Pyrresca. A small city-state made up mostly of the city and several surrounding villages. The main city is made up of three districts: the upper and lower sections of Ember Hall and the Blooming Quarter. The small surrounding villages are mostly small farming communities: Willowfen, Mournstead, and Ivywood.
Government
Pyrresca is a very typical monarch society. The king at the top in castle Ember along with four nobel houses that advise the king. These four advisors make up the council of the Ashwarden. The councils sole duty is to prevent the city from falling as the other cities before them have. Guarding against the ash that remains so that they do not succumb to it.
Industry & Trade
Due to the many times the land has burned, the ash has acted as a great source of fertilizer, so the land surrounding the city-state is very fertile. Pyrresca relies mostly on the farming trade of the villages and those that reside in the Blooming Quarter. However closer to the city center there are many artists of fiber and cloth that contribute to the trade of the city.
Districts
Upper Ember Hall
Castle Ember is held here, a small but notable Castle at the very center of the city. The Upper Ember Hall district is dedicated to the castle and surrounding houses of nobility.
Lower Ember Hall
This district is all residential and markets. The majority of the population of Pyrresca lives and works here.
The Blooming Quarter
This makes up the majority of Pyrresca by volume and is relatively untouched, saved for the small villages that pepper the land. It is mostly rolling hills and forest with farmland closer to the city districts.
History
The History of Pyrresca is long and tragic in it's origin. The land is know to be one that was always settled. Rumors of large bustling cities reduced to ashes time and time again over centuries, kings killed in brutal war, infighting, and betrayal all causing cities to crumble and burn. And yet time and time again people are drawn to it. After each time a city falls a new one returns though this time the ambitions of the king are lower. A smaller city-state not looking to expand beyond its means. One of the first acts of the King was to create the council of the Ashwarden. Those meant to protect the city from falling to the flame. The king and his people both hope it will be enough to stave off the unknown causes their predecessors failure.
