Pallid Elf

Pallid Elves are a somber and ethereal lineage of elves devoted to Sera, The Silent Radiance, Goddess of the Moon and Secrets. Born not through bloodlines, but through sacred oaths and divine blessing, Pallid Elves are often Lunar Elves or Astral Elves who have turned fully toward Sera’s quiet path, or Shadow Fey who have renounced their kin and chosen the soft light over the oppressive gloom.

They are easily recognized by their ashen-white skin, as pale as moonlight reflected on snow, and eyes that shimmer silver or soft lavender, lacking pupils but glowing faintly in darkness. Their hair tends toward shades of white, pearl-gray, or midnight black, and they often garb themselves in muted, flowing robes that blend with twilight or starlit skies.

Pallid Elves live a life of restraint and reflection, adhering to the tenets of Sera. They value secrets, not as tools of manipulation, but as sacred burdens to be protected. They speak little and write often, believing that words carry more weight when chosen with care. Many keep journals bound in silverleaf or moonhide, recording dreams, thoughts, and truths too fragile to say aloud.

Their society is minimalistic, centered around moonlit enclaves hidden within forests, caves, or glades that glow under the moon's gaze. These settlements are protected by starlight wards, ancient glyphs, and moonstone crystals attuned to Sera’s quiet vigilance. Outsiders are welcomed only if they approach with reverence and honesty; deception is considered a spiritual stain.

While peaceful, Pallid Elves are not defenseless. Trained in the Way of the Silent Glaive and Moonwoven Arts, they strike only when necessary—and with cold precision. Their spells draw upon moonlight and dreams, specializing in protective enchantments, illusions, and bindings. They are known to quiet the minds of raging beasts, cloud the thoughts of liars, or unravel curses with dream-silver runes.

Many Pallid Elves serve as keepers of ancient lore, oracles, or wandering guardians, moving between mortal realms and spirit-haunted dreamscapes. It is said some can even walk the silver thread of moonlight that connects the Material Plane to the Spirit Realm during nights of full moons or eclipses.

They are viewed with curiosity and sometimes unease by other elves. To the Shadow Fey, they are traitors who have forsaken strength for sentiment. To the Lunar Elves, they are sacred siblings, the chosen interpreters of Sera’s divine silence. And to most mortals, they are enigmatic, spoken of in hushed tones as ghostly watchers of forgotten ruins or moonlit crossroads.

To be Pallid is not a race—it is a vow, a transformation of soul, and an unshakable commitment to stillness, sorrow, and serene truth.

HUMANOID

Pallid Elf Traits

Size: Medium (5-6ft)

Speed: 30ft

As a Pallid Elf, you have these special traits.

Darkvision

Accustomed to twilit forests and the night sky, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Keen Senses

You have proficiency in the Perception skill.

Fey Ancestry

You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put you to sleep.

Trance

Elves don’t need to sleep. Instead, they meditate deeply, remaining semiconscious, for 4 hours a day. (The Common word for such meditation is “trance.”) While meditating, you can dream after a fashion; such dreams are actually mental exercises that have become reflexive through years of practice. After resting in this way, you gain the same benefit that a human does from 8 hours of sleep.

Incisive Sense

You have advantage on Intelligence (Investigation) and Wisdom (Insight) checks.

Blessing of the Moon Weaver

You know the light cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the sleep spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the invisibility spell (targeting yourself only) once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Casting these spells with this trait doesn’t require material components. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
