Linton Hot Springs and Sanatorium
1st of Sun's Swell, AE 721
There are a number of hot spring sites within the Vaté mountain range, believed to have been enjoyed by various peoples for thousands of years, but the Linton Hot Springs and Sanatorium holds the title of longest operating healthcare facility in the area, Older than some nation states, it first opened on the second of Ardorraise, AE 504.
Similar to the Vatéoneya, located much higher in the mountain range, the Sanatorium takes advantage of ancient lava tubes close to the surface, using natural chambers as soaking rooms and saunas. Many areas of the tubes have been chiselled and carved down to make more smooth, comfortable areas for guests to sit or recline while soaking. The sanatorium also has two regular buildings containing rooms for patients; Ward One is for patients requiring low to minimal levels of care, and Ward Two for patients with greater needs.
Ward Two has also historically served as a tuberculosis and influenza ward during outbreaks. An elevator can bring patients up to the building's large, flat roof with cots designed for patients undergoing rest care, so they may receive adequate sunlight and cold mountain air exposure.
