Bruxaria University (bɾu.ʃaˈɾi.ɐ)

Bruxaria University is not the oldest magic-oriented school in the world, far from it, but it is the first of its particular kind. Magic and her users have existed on Aidonia for millennia, but historically most schools fell into one of two categories: the first were more akin to trade apprenticeships, taking on one or two students at a time to teach them a specific, narrow set of magic for use on the job. The second type were highly exclusive cloisters of the rich and educated, keeping whatever findings they may have made hidden behind arcane locks. Bruxaria was the first to offer the study of magic for its own sake to the masses. While some would argue that the tuition rate is still an insurmountable wall for many, each year it welcomes a far larger, more diverse cohort than any school before it.   The university is located on the duskward end of the Mosvadoran Peninsula, leaving it in a perpetual state of twilight easy on the eyes of students from Adis, but light enough to allow for visibility for those from Phicen. A small college town sprung up around the university long ago, creating a small but bustling hub in the middle of what is otherwise hundreds of miles of quiet farmland.   Bruxaria is made up of five colleges: Lorehold, Prismari, Quandrix, Silverquill, and Witherbloom.

Location

Bruxaria's location is a surprising one. On the duskward end of the Mosvadoran Peninsula, space is at a premium; being the only part of the entire star-facing continent of Adis where photosynthetic plants are capable of growing, any buildings tend to have small footprints to maximize potential growing spaces. Controlled by Mosvador's surpremely powerful Agricultural Production Union, Bruxaria's founders were only able to secure the 100 acre central campus by brokering a deal: land for increased production. The eight-hour variation on the Plant Growth spell was developed by one of the university's founders, Doga Çelik, and to this day Witherbloom sophmores and juniors are required to participate in week long field experiences (no pun intended) in which they spend their days systematically casting the ritual over hundreds of miles of crops.

Public Agenda

Bruxaria's aims to cultivate the world's most promising minds, teaching them to use magic to address both mundane and extraordinary problems in their communities and the world at large.
