Unvada
The Sonvada sing - literally - of the benevolence of the Dance of Winds, but the unvada would beg leave to differ. Of course, the sonvara would refuse that leave, but equally the unvada would differ anyway.
The unvada are the descendents of the Featherfolk who refused the duty after the Cataclysm. The second fracturing of the World convinced them that it was more than any one lineage, however many Skyships they commanded, should be asked to do to hold the mortal lines together. The Dance of Winds differed - no begging for leave involved - and cursed the featherfolk who questioned their Gods. They stripped them of their wings, and robbed them of their voices.
The first unvas could only communicate by mimicking the voices of others, which made it easy for the sonvada to destroy the reputation of the unvada families and, in many cases, strip them of their holdings and especially their skyships. Over the generations that followed, the unvada have managed to find their voices, but they retain a gift and a propensity for imitation.
They are, for the most part, a scattered and wandering lineage, rarely grouping in more than small families. The exception occurs when one or more unvas get hold of a skyship, either one or the ancestral ships that they managed to keep or any newer vessel they can afford. When an unva has a skyship, they will - as far as they can - crew it with unvas and make it a home for them. To return to the air is the dream of all unvas, and they will not deny it to any other.
Since the Nosvada broke from the sonvada, the unvada have developed some collaborations with the night flyers. Both groups have a knack for espionage, between the nosvas' night sight and the unvas keen memories.
