Titans of the Firmament

Notus, the Life Giver, created the first creatives of flesh and blood and bone and soul, but also the pure Titans of living radiance known as the Transient Stars of The Firmament. These flawless forms shone upon the harmonious World, and later rained upon the dome as harbingers of the coming Colossi.   In the sky cities of Titans, the children of Notus were represented by the stormwrights, the mage-monarchs of the early empire, whose influence and power faded little with the loss of titles and crowns. They organised and guided the high titans, drawing their works together to create a greater whole, becoming the overall architects of Titanis as an empire and as a culture.   Other titans of the Firmament included the Prime Sphinxes, the Unicorns of the Seven Bright Stars, the eight Lamiae of the Elemental Boundaries, and many other powerful, prototypical specimens of the so-called earthly Celestials.   The Colossus War took a terrible toll on the Titans of the Firmament, beginning with the Transient Stars. The Stormwrights also fell, leading from the front. The Prime Beasts died in battle or were hunted down. Only the Empyrean, the angelic enforcers of the stormwrights, survived in any numbers, and that because they abandoned the fight early in the war, horrified by the fall of the Stars and declaring their own lives more important than any duty after a number of them were slain in the first exchange.   The storm Giants took up the mantle of leadership, although the other giants were none too willing to give the same obedience to another giant as to the Stormwrights. The lesser progeny of the Prime Beasts also remain, although in small numbers and often much persecuted by hunters.
