Orders of Purity

The southern faction of the Talahaean Bloodhunter Orders devoted itself to the hope of finding ways to use the powers of the Dark Lords, and especially their Chosen, against them. While they experienced some successes, the key to the Uprising ultimately came in the form of the Godslayers, weapons forged in primordial fire as vessels for the destiny of the Orc race. The Orders of Purity remained only a small part of the rebellion, emerging not as leaders, but as a potentially dangerous, but not hostile, faction. Granted the status of an independent house - a body with authority and standing only over itself - the Orders have persisted as social outliers, with no external authority, but permitted to go about their business as they see fit.
When the single Order of Purity became the Orders, those who continued the original work of the group become the Order of Heaven's Bane. They hunt down the extra planar, including fiends and rogue elementals, but focusing above all on the surviving celestial servants of the Dark Ones; the Chosen. They arm themselves with fragments of the gifts given to the Chosen, and destroy any servants of the Gods that they encounter. As an increasing part of their original work has been taken up by more specialised orders, the Heaven's Bane has narrowed its focus to planar intruders and the undead, The order have also become the administrators of the House of Perdition, keepers of the Accursed Dead (the mortal remains of those who stayed true to the Dark Lords,) and the order respons­ible for finding and rooting out Neo-Legionary cults and other worshippers of the Dark lords.
The second Order was the Order of the Shadowed Path, an extremist faction who rejected the limits that Heaven's Bane put on the use of the gods' power. They were willing to use any power against their quarry, whatever the cost to their souls. Indeed, they go so far as to undergo ritual death during their initiation, existing there after with the social and the religious status of a corpse.
The Order of Black Glass was founded when the enormity of the task of regenerating the Darklands became apparent, born from the decision that the current cost of the Orders' work was too great. Instead of using the weapons of the Dark Lords, thet set out to collect and - if possible - destroy them, creating a vault within the House of Perdition to house those they could not, and in so doing sparked a never-ending debate between the Orders over what should be used, and what should be destroyed.
The Order of the Beast is a cadet branch of the Heaven's Bane, specialising in the lycanthropic gifts of the Chosen of the Keeper, Tamer and Sender. Using the Hunter's Bane in conjunction with the infectious saliva of the Chosen, they seek to take on the strength and transformative powers of a lycanthrope, without falling victim to its curse. They are a highly active order, who take little part in administration, and are perhaps even more feared and despised than the Shadowed Path.
Finally, the Order of the Serpent was created to take over responsibility for creating and refining the Hunter's Bane. Many of their members direct their hunt against the cruelties of the Virin-yal and the Ophionic Empire. They were given cus­tody of the Bane in recognition of their alchemical and pharmacological skills, acquired through manipulation of stolen Virin-yal elixirs. A few of its members have combined their methodologies with those of the Order of the Beast to mimic the ophidian transformations of their foes.
