Lilloth the Netweaver
Lilloth the Netweaver, Queen of Webs and Spiders, Mother of Venoms and the Crawling Chaos
Lilloth is the Spider-Queen of Escharon. Her children are spawned in the Pit of Alathkthi to stalk the chasms, and wage war against the Devils of the Fathomless Vertex. Lilloth is the daughter of Ixis Gloomshrouded, the primordial, Abyssborn fiend who once ruled the chasm of Escharon unopposed, and her hatred for her parent's killers is unbridled.
The webs of Lilloth are literal and figurative. She is a patron of traps, of cutthroat politics and of cutthroats alike. Her nature is to scheme, and she loves above all things - above the schemer, above even the fruits of a scheme - the intricate beauty of a plot of unfathomable complexity. To Lilloth, the beauty of the web is worth more than the flies it might catch.
It was the endless failsafes and contingencies of the drow of the Underhollows that drew the attention of Lillot, and most of those who worship her now do so because they ensnared themselves in paranoia and secret pacts. These clans of drow contest the territory at the apex of the Vertex with faithful clans and duergar holds, notionally to sieze control of the passage to the material world, but also for the beauty of the plots and counterplots that ensue.
Lilloth's most common form is that of a beautiful, elfin, femme-presenting humanoid, with legs ending in tapering spikes and impossibly long, slender fingers from which she weaves long lines of delicate-looking silk. She can also take the form of a giant spider, or an elderly humanoid, hunched and hooded in a robe of shadows.
