Black Desert

The Black Desert occupies the ground that was once the personal demesnes of the Dark Lords, and actively resists the efforts of the Orc Kingdoms to reconstruct the Darklands. The desert experiences blistering days and freezing nights, which shatter the jagged black rocks to sharp, dark sand, which in turn fuses into black glass under the effects of lightning and sorcerous fires. What plants and animals thrive here are lethal, and share the territory with fallen servants of the Dark Lords: fiends, red celestials and Neo-Legion cultists driven out of the Kingdoms.
It is said that the Giver of Banners' stronghold, Storm's Rising, lies within the Desert, and deep below its halls, the Fateforge, where The Godkillers were fashioned.
The borders of the desert are regularly patrolled, and teams of Purifiers and Woodcutters make forays into the Desert itself in their ongoing efforts to tame the land.
