Anippe-Pakhet Khepri-Djeser

Anippe-Pakhet

Noble Daughter of Khepri-Djeser, Pharaoh’s Favoured Wife

Anippe-Pakhet was born into the prestigious Khepri-Djeser noble family, raised with the grace, refinement, and political acumen expected of a woman of her station. From the moment she entered the royal harem, she distinguished herself not just through beauty, but through intellect and quiet strength. She was a skilled mediator, a whisperer of courtly affairs, and a presence both revered and respected.

She became the favoured wife of Pharoah Akl-Abanoub III Suten-Amen, his most trusted companion in matters of the court. To him, she was the perfect consort—elegant, beautiful, dignified, and wise. The only flaw he ever saw in her was that she did not bear him a living son.

This absence of an heir cast a shadow over her position, and though she remained beloved by the Pharaoh, it allowed another to rise. The woman who would bear Akl-Abanoub III’s first living son (Meritptah Shemsu-Ra), the future Pharaoh Akl-Abanoub IV Suten-Amen, was a lesser wife who clawed her way to prominence through her ability to produce a male heir. She despised Anippe-Pakhet, resenting her favour and influence. Though she eventually reached the same level of power within the harem, it was not by virtue, wisdom, or skill—it was by necessity. She had done what Anippe-Pakhet could not.

Anippe-Pakhet’s true legacy, however, was not a son but a daughter - Pharoah Auset I Suten-Amen. Unlike her rival, Anippe-Pakhet ensured her child was not just an heir, but a ruler. She raised her daughter to be cunning, to navigate the treacherous waters of courtly life, and to wield her intelligence as sharply as a blade. Through Auset, her name would endure, shaping the future of Kemet far beyond the reach of those who sought to diminish her.
Pharoah Akl-Abanoub III decreed before his death that Auset would co-rule with Akl-Abanoub IV as his half-sister and wife as he loved her as much as her mother.
