Marklan Kingdom
The Marklan nation is a massive spralling Kingdom based off the Garn river of the Markish Plain and it's surrounding territories. It's a feudal kingdom based heavily in it's organized religion, Solisism.
Structure
Marklan is ruled by a monarchy with near absolute power, the second most powerful organization being the Church. "If the Priesthood is the Voice of God, The King is the Hand."
Culture
The Markish kingdom is built on the principles of faith and honor. They believe in the ideals of knighthood, lordship, and serfdom. They hold many religious festivals that are state run and influenced greatly by the King or local Lords depending on the region. The church also holds a very important amount of power, especially with the day to day activies of local villagers.
History
It was only after the Solis Revolution that the Markish Kingdom begain to form. Specifcially, during the War of the Lions when the three brothers, Herald, Karner, and Franten Hessig all fought over the rulership of New Garnlan at the time. The war ended with the death of all three brothers and the throne being passed down to the sister, Lydna. One of Lydna's first changes was renaming Garnlan to Marklan. Thus marked the beginning of the Markish Kingdom.
Since the rulership of Queen Lydna, the monarchy has been mostly stable in control, except during the War of the Bastard Kings. The first Major war waged is the Markland Cholt war waged by King Harwick Hessig who conquested for territories that he claimed used to belong to the Garn Empire, and therefore Markland. While the war ended in 1509, the conflicted and unrest from the previously cholt people lasted until the Reign of King Lyndor Hessig who put the conflict to rest. Several other minor was followed such as the Fool's War but none so devistation as the War of the Bastard Kings. A terrible and complicated war with several different factions and Kings all fighting for the throne. Lords changed banners more than the wind changed direction. The war only ended when there was no one left to keep fighting. All of the those vying for the throne dead and gone. Only Lyren Hessig, the one who cast his claim away, was left. And forced to take up the crown or let the realm fall into chaos, he chose to be King. King Lyren pasted in the year 1623 and since then, the crown has passed to his son, Lyndor Hessig III, the current King.

Demography and Population
Markland sets around roughly 35 million people, with most being concentrated around the coast and Garn river. Most people are healthy and live generally to their sixties, although with often infighting and local wars, this number can drop drastically.
