The Colosseum of Amatar

The huge Colosseum in the city of Amatar dwarfs surrounding buildings. The ancient building dates back since before the founding of the Republic, by many generations, and holds many secrets within.
The building is not in a whole state, with some sections being damaged, though the arena is more than large enough for the entire population of Amatar to fit within, with space to spare.

Purpose / Function

While its original purpose can only be guessed at, the Colosseum is now used as a central part of events run by the Thespian House. Most often, this is comes in the form of combat, though the Colosseum has also been used for other performances and displays.
The Colosseum has also been used to host important events for the Senate of the Republic
